I recently stumbled upon this video about how the FBI can listen to your phone conversations even when the phone is off. It says that they can remotely activate a part of the chip that turns on the microphone. This is a short clip from a fox newscast. How true is this story, or could it just be some type of fear mongering for all the conspiracy theory followers? If anybody has any info on this subject, i would be interested in learning more.

I'd like to know where the info from the story come from.

It's a very interesting theory, and just think about the mobile phone boom during our lifetimes.

What a great way to listen to what everyone is saying wherever, and whenever?

I had a friend who travelled to some remote area, can't recall where, but they said the locals all wanted mobile phones as a sign of "status", they had no-one to call though....
