California = no spanking

I'm glad I don't live in California(no offense if you do).

I've been hearing recently on the radio about California trying to pass some law that would consider spanking children 3 years or younger a misdemeanor with a $1000 fine or a year in jail.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me for the government to take away a child's parents because they disciple him/her. It seems that would do more damage than a possible bruise on the hind quarters.
