been reading through the forum and so forth

1. hes supposeidly been taught in a islamic school
2. wants to be sowrn in by the quran

people say hes muslim
people say he isnt

so is a Obama a muslim? Christian? Jew? atheist?

Obama claims to be a Christian and attends a Christian church.

His father was a Muslim, but he was raised by his Christian mother. He says he did attend a "predominately Muslim" school when living abroad as a child. This has been characterized as a "madrassa" by his opponents.

I don't think he ever said anything about being sworn in on the Koran, that was someone else (a HR member).

Obama's father was raised Muslim, but was an atheist by the time he was an adult. Obama's mother was an atheist. Obama became a Christian on his own, probably as an adult.

People seem to be very confused by this whole religious progression, but in a lot of families, parents allow their children to make their own choice.
