It's Babel NOT Babble

The movie starring Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt is called Babel (rhymes with table) B a b e l...as in the Tower of Babel.

It is not Babble as in rabble, scrabble etc. I am sick of hearing this being mispronounced and it really pees me off.

Can't people read and use basic grammar anymore ?

I thought it was "babble" also.

I saw it back in August at the Teluride Film festival, and thats how everyone was pronouncing it..I am a victim of listening to the locals, I guess.

The director was there, he gave a little talk about the big effects of seemingly insignificant events. But his accent was strong..He was of no help in the correct pronunciation..
