Yeah that's the claim that was being thrown around at FOX news. With an apparanet agenda some hosts of FOX news and journalists of NEW YORK POST have claimed that Obama was trained as a child in an Indonesian "madrassa" which is regarded as an extremist training ground.

Talk about a hit job. The mudslinging has officially begun so get ready for some wild accusations.

CNN debunked the claim and of course FOX wiggled out of it.

CNN debunks false report about Obama

JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- Allegations that Sen. Barack Obama was educated in a radical Muslim school known as a "madrassa" are not accurate, according to CNN reporting.

Insight Magazine, which is owned by the same company as The Washington Times, reported on its Web site last week that associates of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, had unearthed information the Illinois Democrat and likely presidential candidate attended a Muslim religious school known for teaching the most fundamentalist form of Islam.

Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, from 1967 to 1971, with his mother and stepfather and has acknowledged attending a Muslim school, but an aide said it was not a madrassa.

who ever wrote the artical is very retarded
since a madrassa is a religous school and not for extremists
maybe there are some madrassa which are run by extremists (most of whom are in pakistan)

even if he was taught in one doesnt mean he learnt anything extreme

if the writer wanted to get his/her point accross he/she could have said a madrassa that was under the influence of extremists

True, and to be fair it would have been better to mention not all madrassa's are terrorist breeding grounds.

I think the point FOX was trying to make was that Obama was trained in an extremist Muslim environment. Whether all madrassa's are extreme or not wouldn't make any difference to the average American because most have never heard of a madrassa. You may be right, but in terms of this situation you're kind of splitting hairs.

The points were:
FOX: Obama was educated in school by extremist Muslims.
CNN: Obama was not educated by extremist Muslims and FOX was in error.

That came across loud and clear to me.

Now whether we should all have known about madrassa's is a different story.

Even though he wasn't taught in an extremist Muslim school, the fact that his opponent unearthed that he WAS taught at a Muslim school BEFORE he himself told the American public is definitely not a good thing for him.

If it wasn't such a big deal, he should of spoken up before...

In this time and age, having a middle name Hussein isn't exactly great when trying to run for the presidency of America.

An obvious right wing hit job?

Barak Hussein Obama is no threat to Republicans. He is a huge threat to Hillary.

The Clinton war room is fully staffed and ready to attack anyone who poses a threat. Just like in 2004 when they took out John Kerry. Any leaks or rumors about Barak Hussein Obama are likely to be orchestrated by the Clinton Camp.

IOW, the Moonies. Interesting.

A spokesman for Clinton, who is also weighing a White House bid, denied that the campaign was the source of the Obama claim.
He called the story "an obvious right-wing hit job."

We can't really say that it was the Moonies OR Clinton at this point.

THis also shows that FOX has practically no standards in what it chooses to report, if something is published somewhere else, be it a magazine, or a website, they report it as if its been verifiably sourced.

I've seen them source WorldNetDaily, for christsakes.

he WAS taught at a Muslim school BEFORE

He was not taught at a muslim school.

A madrassa is an islamic parochial school. Some are run by terrorist sympathizers. Not all.

That doesn't matter though, because Obama didn't go to an islamic parochial school. He went to a public school, which gave a general education, when he was living in Indonesia.

Being black ain't much of an asset either, but I don't think he's going to be hiding either.

Barak Hussein Obama is no threat to Republicans.

In case you didn't notice, the public has turned on the republicans and, short of divine intervention in iraq right now, is going to be voting in whoever the Democrat candidate is in 2008. So, yes, Obama most certainly IS a threat to republicans.

Any leaks or rumors about Barak Hussein Obama are likely to be orchestrated by the Clinton Camp.

Agreed. At least, that is, until before the democrat ticket is completed. After the primaries, it'll be the republican's job to attack him.

Only in America, during these circumstances where people question names and religions, can a man run for presidency by the name of Obama Hussein.

Its a conspiracy paradise.
