The Canadian Security Intelligence Service as well as the RCMP are investigating a second threatening letter received from a group claiming to be a new FLQ terrorist cell (Front de Libération du Québec). The letter apparently threatens to target English speaking areas on Montreal Island for maximum impact and mentions shopping malls, bridges, rail lines, airport facilities, water supplies, municipal buildings and service stations as targets.

The RCMP is taking "very seriously" a recent threatening letter signed by a group claiming to be a new cell of the FLQ, a Quebec terrorist group active in the 1960s and 1970s.

The letter, dated Jan. 15, says "strategic targets of importance" will be targeted in the western, largely English-speaking part of Montreal between Feb. 15 and March 15.

The letter says the plan of attack is designed "for maximum impact" and warns "it's possible there will be injuries and deaths."

The letter adds that "a combination of vehicles, letter bombs, remote-control explosive devices will be used and most of these devices are already in place."

The letter, which is signed: "FLQ, Camille-Laurin Cell," is the second of its kind. The first one was received on Nov. 15, 2006.

The Integrated National Security Enforcement Team, which includes Montreal police, provincial police, the RCMP and Canadian Security Intelligence Service agents have been investigating since mid-November.

The FLQ were a terrorist organisation responsible for more than 200 bombings and the deaths of at least five people which culminated in 1970 with what is known as the October Crisis when the War Measures Act was put into action by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. It's a dark period of Canadian history that brings back painful memories, especially in Québec.

After 36 years it's probable that some young group of sepratist radicals have decided to invoke the specter and memory of this group to gain some political visibility for their cause. Let us hope that they do not have the resources or desire to follow through on their threats.

The conspiracy side of me hopes that these old ghosts are not being revived in order to further some police state agenda by the Canadian branch of the NWO.
