In this thread lets all gather round and talk about the things that Bush has done: whether good or bad.

I cannot think off the top of my head of something beneficial towards our country that Bush has done...Can you?

Lets see how many bush supporters and haters there are.

Homeland security aka the S.S. also the new drug bill. He also got Saddam!! So he took our civil rights away and expanded government a socialist dream good job George!!

What the hell? All I hear are Dems bitching about Bush. He did this, he did that, he's destroying our nation, blah blah blah. Then you come along, socialistically sophisticated, saying the one thing that could piss off any capitalist loving person. I agree he expanded the government, but not that much. As for Homland security, I think it was a logical step. Am I going to fast for you?

What you just said contradicted everything the neo-libs have said about Bush. I thought they were heading toward socialism. And they call Bush a right-wing, Nazi-loving, blood-sucking, country-invading, economy-destroying, bastard? I...(walks away frustrated)

He's just the Presidential manifestation of America's twenty year downward spiral into championing all that's wrong as all that's right.

Fox TV is the source.

Al Bundy
Cops
Homer Simpson
America's Funniest Home Videos
Bush (Fox "News")

"And to the C students I say... You too can be President!" - W

FYI - I hear traditional conservatives (the real kind) and Libertarians that want to kick Bu$h's azz from here to the Kremlin ALL DAY LONG! You'd be surprised how many traditional Republicans say Bush is no Republican (that is when Liberal's aren't listening).

A Republican's joke I read on a Rush fan website:

Q: If the Bush / Dean election were held today, who would you vote for?
A: MaCain (AGAIN!)

-Having a weak-dollar policy. With the Euro at an all time high, we can enjoy cheaper prices on American-made products.

-Understanding that power is shifting to "New Europe" and forming closer ties with it.

-Tax Refund = Strong Economy. Strongest one quarter growth in 20 years. Predictions that 2004 will have the strongest one year economy make it all the more sweet.

-Steel tariff....stupid Bush! What were you thinking?!

-Promoting democracy in the Middle East. An ambitious goal no doubt, but a good one.

The Simpson's & Married with Children have been the only realistic American sitcoms in the past 20 years. You think "Friends" is representative of US home life?

As for model, Bush's America hovers between an Oligarchy & Mussolini style Fascist State.

God no. Friends is just more of the same Scarecrow, Tinman and Cowardly Lion anticts of all sitcoms.

And I wasn't saying Married or Simpson's weren't groundbreaking (though I disagree they are anywhere near realistic)...just indicitive of the shift to applaud stupidity and glorify 'losers'.

Well, I do think Bush is going a little nuts with the spending, but socialism? That's almost as ridiculous as Democratic Underground.

oligarchy

A form of government in which the supreme power is placed in the hands of a few persons; also, those who form the ruling few.
All oligarchies, wherein a few men domineer, do what they list. --Burton.
Source: Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, 1996, 1998 MICRA, Inc.

fascism n.
often Fascism
A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
Oppressive, dictatorial control.
Source: The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition

Controls through terror and censorship? Racism? DICTATOR!?! He doesn't have that much control! He couldn't get that much control, not even the republicans would allow it. Remember, the conservatives/republicans don't really like him. If he had that much control, I'd vote DEAN!(which he doesn't)

Key qualifier: Musolini Style Fascism. People shy away from the reality of the label because they envison the base version of fascism, but the American Fascism of the early 20th Century and the model practiced today is a reflective of our current administration.

Corporations held the power, as they do in the US now.
We've never had an administration with the top 100 positions being held by very recent coprprate officers/board members/executives, all with a net worth over $10M.
Look at Congress - there is a record crop of millionaires.
So, you tell me it's the the Robber Barons revisted or Musolini's Italy.

Bush just gave mankind the greatest gift a current leader could give. He signed the Antispam bill. But that's the only thing I can find worthwhile.
