If you haven't heard of this before, there is one day a year called Free Comic Book Day.
This year Free Comic Book Day falls on May 5th. This will be the 6th annual free Comic Book Day.

How does it work?
All you have to do is visit your local comic book retailer and pick from a selection of free comics. I'm sure it is organized differently from shop to shop. At the comic store I go to, they set up a table where they have all the free comics on. They let you have any two comics for free and to be fair they charge 25 cents for each comic if you want more than two.

Just about every publisher participates in free comic book day. Stay tuned for announcements on which book will be available for Free Comic Book Day.

When I pick up a free comic on Free Comic Book Day I try to pick a book that looks interesting but I haven't read before.

So remember May 5th. If you forget, don't worry. I will remind you
.

YAY!!

The best thing about that is that cause I live in the UK 25 cents doesn't equal much... so we get all of them for FREE!!!!

Marvel has now announced it's two books for FCBD.

For the sixth annual Free Comic Book Day, Marvel's rolling out a brand new Spider-Man tale by the blockbuster creative team of Dan Slott (She-Hulk) and Phil Jimenez (New X-Men). Much like 2006's Runaways/X-Men FCBD offering, the story in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: SWING SHIFT is steeped in continuity, yet accessible and enjoyable by all Spider-Man fans.

Slott, for one, is more than a bit excited about SWING SHIFT. "[It's] unbelievable," says the elated writer. "And, seriously, how can anyone pass this up? It's got three of the biggest draws that I can think of: 'Spider-Man,' 'Free Comic Book' and 'Phil Jimenez'!"

    Today is the big day!
I'll be heading out to the comic store in an hour or so.

I'm for sure picking up Astounding Wolf-Man #1 by Robert Kirkman.

20 Century Fox is involved with FCBD this year promoting Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. There will be a limited supply of posters and a reprint of Silver Surfer #1. They have also provide one t-shirt and a onesheet poster for stores to raffle off.

    Got my comics

Also picked up some World War Hulk books.

    The place was packed!
They put in a new cash register to handle all the traffic. I've never seen a comic shop with two registers before

That day was pretty crazy,it was jam packed with people that I've never even seen regularly before but I was still able to get all the comics and extras by going with a couple of friends of mine from school.
