Well, considering I actually have an opponent in the preliminaries
now, I suppose I should state some more of my platform.

To add, and restate, my platform includes.

-Creating a single-payer system of universal health care that provides full coverage for all Americans.
-The gradual withdrawal of troops over 5-7 years with more emphasis on training the Iraqis than fighting.
-Guaranteed quality education for all, including free pre-kindergarten and college for all who want it.
-Repealing the USA PATRIOT Act.
-Fostering a world of international cooperation.
-Abolishing the death penalty.
-Increasing rehabilitation programs and reforming the prison system.
-Environmental renewal and clean energy.
-Preventing the privatization of social security.
-Providing full social security benefits at age 65.
-Ratifying the Kyoto Protocol.
-Introducing reforms to bring about instant-runoff voting.
-Getting rid of the Electoral college, and furthering direct democracy in elections.
-Protecting a woman's right to abortion.
-Ending the war on drugs, and legalizing all drugs, while taxing them and controlling the production of those that are dangerous to produce.
-Legalizing same-sex marriage.
-Creating a balance between workers and corporations.
-Creating a system of Metronatural/green urban environments.
-Withdrawal from UN treaties that hinder freedom, and reform of the UN.
-Helping family farms, and increasing the prevalence of local farming.
-Protecting gun rights, and decreasing some of the gun control laws, while eliminating others.
-Ending all military funding, and halving all other funding to Israel.
-Opening up a dialogue with Iran, while at the same time not eliminating the possibility of military force.
-Amnesty for all illegal immigrants who have continuously been in the country 5 years, speak English (or are willing to learn) and are willing to integrate and become productive members of society.
-Funding reform and helping the Mexican government and economy, to bring it up to or near American standards.
-Enforcing mandatory CO2 caps on corporations.
-Halting and/or limiting trade with any company or country that is not willing to conform to international treaties or limits/denies freedom.
-Decreasing the amount of involuntary homelessness.
-Decreasing the nuclear arsenal by 40% while at the same time replacing the other 60% with newer, safer and more efficient warheads.
-Bringing an end to the genocide in Darfur.
-Opening up a dialogue with Venezuela.
-Further funding NASA projects, and creating more government funded competitions for space technology in the private sector.

I realize this is alot of issues, but they are all important to me.

Yes you do.

You've made some high minded promises earlier in this thread about not mudslinging and not getting personal. I've got a few questions concerning exactly what you mean. I'm sure that like most other candidates in this election both of us have the baggage of what we have posted in various places prior to this election. This is kind of the ATS 2007 equivalent of the past voting record baggage candidates must deal with in real world political campaigns.

Do you consider use of this baggage by your opponent to be mudslinging?

In your thread, "Ask iori", were you responding honestly or should I take your responses to this thread with a grain of salt? And yes I do have a couple specific posts in mind which concern me as a voter.

That is an interesting question, one which, I'll be honest, had'nt thought
about, as long as it's not taken out of context, I suppose I would'nt.

I myself won't be, as I try to focus on the present and future rather
than things done/said in the past.

I was, on all but one answer being honest.
Though I to may have said something in jest, as there were a great
many questions, and I do not remember all fo them, or my responses.

Allright, well Iori, since you listed your other goals I suppose I am going to have to list mine as well.

- I want the facts. I want a full disclosure of all of the facts. I want real CIA documents on CIA websites that are not disinfo. I don't want people claiming that they are CIA agents falsifying news and creating false misinfo to deny people from their right to know the truth.
- I want more human intelligence. We went to the Iraq war based on electronically intercepted documents based on words that don't mean anything. The intelligence we had in the cold war was strong because we interacted with CIA agents and we knew when Russia was going to launch a nuclear missile strike because we could tell by analyzing data from the satellites.
- More people should be informed. People should be told the truth about the new world order, the truth about the omega agency, and the truth about the staged alien invasion.
- I want the no child left behind act taken out, because that's stupid, having a platform where education is for everyone when you have to see that if one children fails the teacher is fired so I want the no child left behind act revised for further reviewing so that all children can pass and the teacher can keep their job.
- I want disclosure on the CIA's prisons camps in Guantanamo bay and Abu-Gharaib, even though these anti-american writers sought to create a narrative about how they were treating prisoners badly, it doesn't matter, I want them to have the truth, that the prisoners HAVE NO RIGHTS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AMERICAN.
- All kinds of people should be allowed to vote. People shouldn't be disenfranchised before they were allowed to vote. The supreme court or whatever court of wherever decided to make it clear that these X A Y and B people couldn't vote for Triangle, Circle, Square, and X reason. They were disenfranchised, and most of them happened to be democrats.
- I want for people to be able to turn their votes in late. There were stories about how they couldn't vote and get there on time so they had to turn the slips in but they didn't count it, you can't do that in a democracy, EVERYONE HAS A VOTE!!!
- The assult guns weapons ban was the highlight of the clinton administration. We're far over that. We need to get out of the mess that is the middle east and start focusing on only our own interests and we should take our founding fathers warning and even though this one treaty said that we can't interfere with Europe's foreign policy the same thing should apply to the middle east and the surrounding nations in the middle east and the ones in Africa.

Well thats a doozy of a statement. Are they sub human then? I mean, I know that, as a candidate you are on an unnanounced platform but this one smacks of being slightly right wing of Hitler.

Do you not think that, as a future leader (potentially) of the United States of America that an example needs to be set to the rest of the world, to provide a platform to pass on values from? Or are you advocating - as is indicated in this statement - that any US service personnel serving in a warzone and captured by the enemy would also have no rights as they were not the nationality of the country in which they may be captured, and as such could - at worst - be summarily executed on the spot, but otherwise rendered to hidden camps, given no access to the outside world and detained indefinitely without trial or recourse to a legal system?

neformore,
I think you are misunderstanding what our fellow candidate is saying.

I do not think that Maverick is saying that he believes that if you are not
American nd our in prison that you have no rights.
What I understand him to be saying, is that in these illegal CIA prisons,
the people in charge there do not respect any of the rights of the people
who have been kidnapped and brought there, and that the public has not
opened there eyes to realize that.

Ah yes, you may be right, and if so I apologise to the other candidate unreservedly
Maybe a little clarification is all thats needed here?

Either way, this is an issue worthy of debate because this is one of the core American values that are perceived across the world. The United States of America - as a nation - cannot be seen to place itself in a position of superiority. Its the perception of "American superirority" that is at the core of most Anti-American sentiment across the globe - in my opinion - and we need to change that perception.

Okay, I'll explain what I mean. The world has to follow the rules of the world court. Our country of America views itself as it being superior to the rest of the world. It also believes that it's the only country that can have nuclear weapons and that all other countries cannot and that they must disarm all other countries. It also believes it can throw people who don't believe in it into jail and detain them without any warrant, or for that matter, arrest illegal aliens who have crossed the boarder. And it can also throw random people off of the Iraqi streets into Prison.

What I am saying is that our country under the bush administration is above the world because bush's daddy is heading the little thing called the new world order, so therefore, we need to constrain the President, make sure that executive orders don't get signed without him reading what they are twice, and to make sure he can't make any decisions when he is feeling mentally instable (this comment is directed to bush). The CIA has prison programs and it's their fault not ours because we are basing all of our intelligence off of what the CIA gets so therefore we need to rely more on the homeland security department and less on the CIA because the CIA views members of other countries as subhuman. Therefore, we need to change that. Make it so that other people have their rights so that other people won't be as angry at us-- and to make it so that terrorists have no vote because I see that they are the only ones that complain, it's either them, or the ones that root for them.

I believe we would have been better off without those little fiascoes that we have been having with foreign policy. Don't wait until our next president comes into power, it will be too late then, ACT NOW.

Ah, that's okay. I know you apologized for the comment but I still wanted to clarify what I meant because the person that tried to say what I meant still probably didn't really know what I meant because I didn't have enough to say. That's OKAY.

I would just like to add something to my platform issues.

I will recognize, if they want to be so recognized, the Republic of
China (Taiwan) as an independant and sovereign nation.

And as such will pledge full support for them in the case that the
Peoples Republic of China(China) trys to take an military action
against them.

I realize this will be my fourth post on issues I'll be running on, but I
feel that I should make them known.

These issues deal with energy and the economics.

I will work to reduce the amount of import from China by 50%.
I will work to create economic standards that require any company
that wishes to sell goods in America, to have atleast 10% of it's
jobs here.

I will fund further R&D and production of alternative energy sources,
such as Biofuels, Hydrogen fuel cells, Hydroelectric, Wind, Solar,
Geothermal and Wave power.

I have some issues that I need to talk about as well.

I want to reduce the amount of jobs being outsourced to other competing nations like China, India, Mexico and I want to keep them inside our country.

I want to establish that our country, the United States should not be under martial law. Lots of the events and surrounding catastrophes that are influencing our own nations policies are happening because they are let happen and our policies influence them happening so that they happen so that we are going to be put down for that. So when the next disaster comes we are going to be under state of emergency operations, and I will do anything to keep that from happening.

I want to focus only on real national security problems and I want to try not to create additional national security problems that would mess with the infrastructure of our nation.

I want to stabilize the internet. So many people are good at hacking these days that you have to admit that there is a high possibility that one of them is going to launch a terrorist attack on the internet sio you need to be ready for anything. The internet should be a safe secure place so and it should be safe enough so that you won't have to worry about it being brought down.

we should drive the taliban outside of Afghanistan and we should not kill anymore innocent Iraqis. Instead we ask their help to keep the peace, and we ask them to show gratitude to us and to welcome us with open arms and then I demand that we show the terrorists as the antagonists and us as their protectors and to create Iraq as a safe democratic nation in the middle east for years to come, and to get out of there as quickly as possible, and to just not worry about making it democratic, but to just defeat the al-queda warriors in that nation too.

I am not here to announce or run for anything, but I would like to make a statement concerning what I want to see come to pass for this country. I think it would be really swell if we had a:

national project!

Just like in the good ol' days, something everybody can get involved in!
