the group "Revolutionary Struggle",
might be a couple degrees of seperation related to

the Islamic "Revolution" in Iran??

if not a cell of Iranians in Greece,
then perhaps a Greek or Cyprus cell who used the opportunity
to gain this type of linkage recognition, or else showed thru action their sympathies with other anti-Americans in a struggle against the west

i just think that 48 hours is too short a time, and too un-related a target,
for the attack to have been an Iran sponsered response to the northern Iraq raid of a safe house for 6 Iranian 'observers'

I still can't get over the fact that we actually raided an embassy of a foreign government

It was not an embassy. It was not even a consulate.

It was an ""office of relations". The Iranians who were detained did not have diplomatic status.

Please try again.

Oh thanks for the correction. It is a liason office awaiting approval for consular status. The building did have an Iranian flag flying on it.
Have not read anything about the 6 not being or having diplomatic status as of yet. I would probably bet the one that has been released was in fact a diplomat.

I have read several mentions of it. Below is one example.

Mithal Alusi, a member of the (Iraqi) national Parliament, charged that the detainees were Iranian intelligence officers involved in terrorist activities in northern Iraq. He insisted that they did not have diplomatic status.

U.S. raids in northern Iraq nab several Iranians

Yes, that sounds like a reasonable presumption.
