14 Carter Center Advisers Resign Over Former President Jimmy Carter's Book

WASHINGTON — Fourteen members of a leadership group under former President Carter's think tank resigned Thursday over concerns that Carter's book on the Middle East does not represent "the Jimmy Carter we came to respect and support."

The members of the 200-member Board of Councilors, a leadership advisory group founded in 1987, join a longtime Carter aide, Jewish groups and lawmakers who have publicly criticized the former president's best-selling book "Palestine: Peace, Not Apartheid" for inaccuracies and distorting history.

"It comes to the result of deep soul searching and a tremendous amount of angst," said Steve Berman, a member who was appointed six months ago.

Plagiarism and factual errors... Is the peanut farmer's grasp on reality slipping? Does he feel compelled to rewrite history in order to gain a modicum of stature? Jimmy Carter has wiled away his days sucking up to two bit dictators and terrorists... He hasn't met one he doesn't like yet. In between placating thugs, he would provide blessing to any "election" that had a positive outcome for some leftist socialist soon to be dictator; a debt of gratitude by the U.N. always forthcoming. Often praised as a deeply spiritual man, I wonder if he'll take a leap of faith and convert to Bishop Hugo Chavez's new church... Our Lady of Marx & Lenin.

You can't blame them for distancing themselves from this mere shadow of (crap, he was a shadow of a man when at his height of power) former pathetic self. I'm amazed to that it even happened, but then again... Some can only hold their nose for so long before they have to breathe.

Why is it always left to me to defend the mckinneys, sheehans and carters of the world. Your maligning Jimmy Carter is disgusting. You completely fail to see the yin and yang. Without Jimmy, we would have no Billy Carter. With no Billy, we'd of had no Billy beer.

And with no Iran/Contra we'd of had no Reagan and Jimmy would have been reelected.

Carter's aura has left him,
this new stance on Palistine and Isreal left me speechless.
