Yes that's right... Politics.AboveTopSecret.com will so no longer be valid.

Our political discussion board is getting a new URL:

www.AbovePolitics.com

As we make these changes, and the primary URL in the links shift to the new domain, causing a need to log-in... just so no one's surprised about the shift.

And... as a sneak preview... we'll soon be running a special event specific to www.AbovePolitics.com... any who would like to participate may want to consider what your platform would be as you run for President of the United States... but more on that later.

Yes.

Everything will be the same, except for the domain name. We're hoping to attract more politics-specific users with a slight shift in strategy.

hmm, that's curious. So will our current login (username/pw) be valid on this new site or will we have to re register?

Allow me a moment to catch my breath. The title caught me off guard. ..... Thank You.

Not much of a marketing guru, but I can see the logic behind such a move.

Is there a something set in stone for when the transition will take place?

Edit:

Of the existing forums on PTS, will they all have a home on AbovePolitics? Will we see some new Forums? Saying Goodbye to any Forums?

Or will we have to wait and see?

SkepticOverlord you gave me a hell of a fright with the thought of PTS being discontinued.

I look forward to seeing AbovePolitics and any new feathers that appear.

A Change Will Do You Good

The only changes we have planned are changes I'm hoping you'll like.

I know I'm excited about them!

I don't know if it's a game but it sounds damn interesting from my point of view. Looking forward to tomorrow to see this. My platform doesn't include high heeled shoes.
Those that live through the 70's got that one.

The title threw me for a loop for a second.

I don't post there much, but I do read there, on occasion.

I guess it's all for the better.

Will there be an option for us libertarian socialists? Can we run on a platform to get rid of the position of president...

So what do we called this one?
Instead of PTS should we call it AP?

You scared me there for a moment. I really enjoy Pts and learning different views I may not always agree but it's always interesting. Looking forward to new views and more knowledge. Hmmmmmmmmm what would I do as prez? Must think on that one. Is there a deadline on posting our platform?

I hope you are still keeping the domain name and placing a redirect on the old domain so that people will not come to a dead end on old google or search engine links and end up coming to some doorway page some spammer sets up later.

TLA: APC Or AP?

That's the only downside to the new name, IMO.

"APC" sounds way too much like "Armored Personnel Carrier".

Meanwhile, "AP" is the well-known acronym for the Associated Press, and "Armored Piercing", too.

So there's a lot of "operator overloading" going on there, which might be sort of poetic, in a way.

I like the way the name "Above Politics" can be interpreted differently depending on your point of view, and am quite the fan of multiple entendres myself.

Personally, I find myself gravitating to "AP" -- though it still sounds weird, being new and all.

"AP" is somewhat analogous to the way ATS, BTS and PTS are abbreviated (excluding the .Com initial).

I say: let the other AP complain all they want.
