I was watching the nightly news, and there was a big segment which related to the military sub-contractor, Halliburton, and all the money they are making feeding the troops at $28 per meal. 100K plus meals a day was quoted.

But just the other day, I made a speed stop in the drive thru of

Burger King.

There were two signs, and the cashier mentioned it several times.

"If you buy a meal, for $4.00 more dollars, you can help Burger King feed the troops overseas!"

At first I blew it off, then it pissed me off.

That is almost a 100% tax on your food, to help the government pay for an expense.

This war is going to be a commercial bonanza !
It will surely help the economy!

Just what point are you trying to make?

That charge was optional and would probably go towards the operational fee's of Burger King Baghdad (third highest grossing BK in history) I didn't know Haliburton was feeding the troopers though, i was under the impression they were in it for the petrochemical resources.

Nothing stimulates an economy like a good old fashioned warring.

Nerd, The war is going to be a commercial bonanza, number one,..

Two,...For an American to be sur-charged a fee or tariff (optional or not), for a product or service , is a tax (optional or not), and to be used to pay for government expenses and costs incurred. Dont know what they call it else where.

We can pay for it without paying $9.00 for a Whopper meal, and $4.00 being used under the name of the government. After administration expenses, and operational expenses, I would be suprised to see $1.00 of food value in front of any soldier in Iraq.

Haliburton, along with another company, have the food contract as well, nerdling.
There has been some attention brought to the quality of kitchen, etc, provided, compared to the $28 per meal fee charged the USA.
