***Archive post***
Hi team!!
First, a very BIG thanx to DJDOHBOY for producing his wonderful Tutorial which
has been made a "Sticky" by the mods (thanx!! ) which should be a great help to those who want to know how to install SETI@home!!
So - a BIG THANX DJ!!
Used in conjunction with TMT's FAQ's I think we've got some fantastic
resources for new comers!!
The ATS SETI@home team continues to go from stength to strength. Currently:
81 917 WU's, 259 members (including Kano who has joined ), in 94.641 CPU years at Tue Feb 24 19:00:08 2004 GMT.
Thanx to *all* of you for commiting to use your machines spare cycles to crunch SETI data!!
Still nothing to report on the "Points for WU's" nor "SETI team managers" issues but again realise that board developments - such as
"ConspiracyLinks.com" and other very clever board coding issues - must have pushed us onto the back burner!! I'm sure, though, that we're
"not forgotten" and all good things come to those who wait!!
Keep up the good work people - I'm *very* nearly in the top 1% of users now, incidentally, with the tag "You have completed more work units than
98.997% of our users" being displayed against my stats!! It's *very* difficult to move that figure, incidentally, as I suspect I'm "meeting"
people who are generating as many (or as few!!) WU's per day as I am!!
Keep up the tremendous work everybody - let's go ATS SETI@home team!!

Hi watcheroftheskies!!
Unfortunately, I can't run SETI@home at my works QTH either: it goes against company policy to run "unofficial" programs
Never mind, please consider yourself an "honoury" member of the ATS SETI@home team and "glow in our reflected glory"!!
Thanx for saying "Hello" to us all!!

114 647WU's, 267 members in 123.164 CPU years at Tues March 2nd 2004 at 15:38:53 2004 GMT!!
SETI@work is currently displaying erroneous data as regards team positions so won't record this.
83 Members now at 100WU's landmark or higher and more poised to get there!!
Thanx for all your dedication folks!! Let's go ATS SETI@home team!!

2993WU's returned over the past 7 days
426.8 WU's per day average return
Comparisions *not* available for "All team" positions at this moment as the SETI@work site is moving.
Keep up the great work ATS SETI@home and ATS BOINC teams

***120 140WU's completed***
Archive post:
Just to flag that ATS SETI@home team has now surpassed the 120kWU barrier, as follows:
120 140WU's, 271 members in 127.221 CPU years at Fri Mar 12 19:22:24 2004 GMT.
SETI@work is showing 99 active members and 172 inactive members. We have returned 3537WU's in the past 8 days at an average of 442.4WU's per day.
A very fine achievement for all concerned: thanx to all for your continued support and participation!!

Archive post:
Following Publius's shock leaving of the team, there has been a period of readjustment to claw back the "missing" work units.
SETI@work shows:
87 Active members and 187 inactive members at Mon Mar 22 21:07:04 2004 UTC. Total WU's processed by the ATS SETI@home team are 95885WU's.
The ATS BOINC team is really making distinct progress and currently shows:
26 members with a Total credit of 3549.81 units. This warrants 60th position out of 867 teams - a truly outstanding effort!!
Let's go ATS BOINC and SETI@home teams!!

I'd love to join, but when I started a new account with a new email address about two months ago, I never got a password. I've clicked the
"request password" link on the seti site but never get a reply. Go figure.

Hi Hecate!!
Yes, it seems quite a few people are having increasing difficulties joining the ATS SETI@home team, attested by the "cry's for help" elsewhere in
the discussion boards I *think* it's because support is gradually being withdrawn from S@h as - probably within a month or so - SETI will "move"
to the BOINC version and cease to offer SETI@home "original". (Again, manhy discussions are about this in our forum!!)
So, can I please suggest you consider looking at BOINC SETI@home? We already have 26 members running BOINC (I don't at present as I'm nearing my
5kWU goal!! ) though I will change to BOINC almost immediately afterwards!!
xn is our "expert" on things BOINC but if you have any questions about it, don't be scared to ask!!
Thanx again - hope to see you in the team one day soon!!

Thanks for the encouragement -- I'll be installing BOINC in a few minutes (just downloaded it). The problems of getting seti@home to send passwords
has been ongoing for over a year now, as I had an older account left dormant for a year and never got my old password despite periodic requests.
Here's hoping I get a password with BOINC!

Hi Hecate!!
Thanx for joining BOINC - I'm sure you will find it very interesting. I've yet to run BOINC myself as I'm continuing with SETI@home for the time
being but I'll be moving over (to take "last place" in the team!) at sometime in the near future!!
Thanx again - and hopefully the password "problem" won't be so frustrating this time!

Installed it, and nothing's happening. I see at the seti@home site that they'll be emailing everyone running the old program within the next few
months with new account info, so I think I'll just wait until that time.
