Actually, they were not really aftershocks as they occured in different places. Too far from the initial quake, but most likely triggered by the mag 7.5 quake...

Where will the next big one hit? Himalayas?

At least one - and possibly as many as seven - magnitude 8.1 to 8.3 earthquakes are overdue along the Himalayas

USGS has adjusted the first one up to 7.9 with 4 aftershocks of 5+ as of 10:15 EST.

CNN is now saying it has been upgrated to a 7.9!!!!!

Watches and warnings up the US pacific coast all the way up to Alaska!!!

One of the aftershocks was a 6.3, thats quite big.

Main now at 7.9 by USGS, 8.0 by EMSC. Same difference if you were near it though.

Heres a couple of plots of it. I'm guessing that the second large spike may be why some places reported multiple quakes.

Well I wasn't looking at the USGS quake site after the Indonesian Tsunami quake, but I'd guess it may be due to that big one in Peru. It has now been upgraded to a full magnitude 8 as well. Only 10 times smaller than the Indian Ocean Tsunami one.

Well, there have been a few, but i've definitely seen more on the charts than at the moment. The USA only maps though, are quite high in number as I type this, at 777.

Well, why are you even reporting the earthquakes, without any comments on damage, victims, anything? You have no comments on the nature of earthquakes, and see no patterns...nothing.

So, what's the point? We can searh and find officially registered earthquakes, we do not need you to copy and paste info here...but if it makes you happy, keep on doing it.

It is nice to know that there are smart people like you, who do not panic like us mortals. It so happens that your information is EXACTLY the same as official one, so we should be proud of you. You are so official.

Yup, it was deleted. There's a new link now, and the quake has been downgraded to a 6.9. Big difference between a 7.4 and a 6.9...

Yes, a 7.4 is, I think, 3 times bigger than a 6.9. And the old link would have been preliminary.
