FoxNews is wrong
Watch them update soon and blame "computer-glitches", etc. USGS still has only one quake at Mag 7.5. Reuters, FoxNews, etc. all use USGS as a source, so...

A couple of aftershocks...

USGS: Magnitude 5.8 - CENTRAL PERU
2007 August 16 00:02:41 UTC

USGS: Magnitude 5.9 - NEAR THE COAST OF CENTRAL PERU
2007 August 16 00:19:09 UTC

edit: correction:
Actually, they were not really aftershocks as they occured in different places. Too far from the initial quake, but most likely triggered by the mag 7.5 quake...

Where will the next big one hit? Himalayas?

At least one - and possibly as many as seven - magnitude 8.1 to 8.3 earthquakes are overdue along the Himalayas

One of the aftershocks was a 6.3, thats quite big.

Main now at 7.9 by USGS, 8.0 by EMSC. Same difference if you were near it though.

Heres a couple of plots of it. I'm guessing that the second large spike may be why some places reported multiple quakes.

Well I wasn't looking at the USGS quake site after the Indonesian Tsunami quake, but I'd guess it may be due to that big one in Peru. It has now been upgraded to a full magnitude 8 as well. Only 10 times smaller than the Indian Ocean Tsunami one.

Let me guess: everything is within normal activity, number of earthquakes is within the average range. Right, apex?

Let me guess, everything is going crazy, and the current number of earthquakes is a clear indicator that we're all going to die. Right, swimmer?

Edit; sorry, couldn't resist.

Well, there have been a few, but i've definitely seen more on the charts than at the moment. The USA only maps though, are quite high in number as I type this, at 777.

So, you have seen more than this...no big deal, huh?

Well, why are you even reporting the earthquakes, without any comments on damage, victims, anything? You have no comments on the nature of earthquakes, and see no patterns...nothing.

So, what's the point? We can searh and find officially registered earthquakes, we do not need you to copy and paste info here...but if it makes you happy, keep on doing it.

It is nice to know that there are smart people like you, who do not panic like us mortals. It so happens that your information is EXACTLY the same as official one, so we should be proud of you. You are so official.

Well I can't remember seeing a larger number of quakes than normal and massive catastrophes and worldwide panic like you say there should be.

Tell me what we are meant to do with it then. Start your own thread and do it your way. As you know so much about it, you can do all you want with it. Seeing as you want the service done a different way, you can provide it. If people want that, fair enough.

So what source do you want then?

Yup, it was deleted. There's a new link now, and the quake has been downgraded to a 6.9. Big difference between a 7.4 and a 6.9...

Yes, a 7.4 is, I think, 3 times bigger than a 6.9. And the old link would have been preliminary.
