Tremors of up to 8.0 on the Richter scale were registered some 200 kilometres (120 miles) southeast of Tashkent, officials said.

PS if anyone feels like posting an image off USGS, upload it yourself (like the above post)please as otherwise they update from USGS. There are a few examples on last years thread where quakes in interesting places struck, but now are no use as they are the live pictures.

forestlady: I hadn't really noticed that sort of thing really,but that seems very deep yes. Perhps some deep subduction zone occurence?

You can chart the progress of the Ring of Fire quakes moving from Fiji area north and then east over to Alaska.
