I was doing some quake research yesterday and discovered something interesting. The area around Fiji has been having extremely deep earthquakes. Others are anywhere from 10 to 70, but the depth of these quakes is like 400 to 600 km. Also, the Ring of Fire, where Fiji is also located, seems to be heating up quite a bit and moving towards California.

Here's another site that I find very useful. You can chart the progress of the Ring of Fire quakes moving from Fiji area north and then east over to Alaska. From Fiji all the way to Alaska, there ahve been lots of quakes for the last 2 weeks.
