Well well--
At long last, I have proof of one of my suspicions as to the origin of this, much used, term for the Bin Laden gang.
You see, I have an Uncle--passed now--who, being a Civil Engineer/Geologist, spent 20 years of his career opening oil fields in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,
and Iraq--with ARAMCO in the early years before it was ARAMCO. Since he spoke fluent Arabic and a couple of Bedouin Dialects, I was familiar with the
term "Al Qaeda", and it's various meanings when used as a prefix or suffix with other Arabic words. The meaning used alone--as we see it is,
universally, "crapper", aka Toilet Bowl--and not "Base" or "Database" unless used with other terms to designate it.
