Tacoma School Shooting: 1 Dead

TACOMA, Washington (AP) -- One person was shot Wednesday morning at a Tacoma, Washington, high school, and the school was being evacuated, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear what had happened, or if the shooter was still inside the building, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.www.cnn.com...

I hope they get the situation under control fast, so far one person has been shot, and they're evacuating the school.

Oh goodness. I have friends who live there. The have TONS of kids in the school system (11 - can you believe it?). I'm going to give them a shout. Thanks for posting.

School officials are now stating that one student has died.

My thoughts go out to the parents, and all the students at that school. This is something that doesn't only traumatize one person, it effects the whole school/community.

I have yet to find out if the shooter was a student/adult.

The boy was shot inside the school around 7:30 a.m. (10:30 a.m. ET), about five minutes before classes were to begin. "We're not sure of the motive at this point," Ellis said.

And the shooter was a male student.
