In 2004, then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi submitted a proposal to then- Speaker Dennis Hastert requesting that the Congress implement a Minority Bill of Rights, as a means to check the power of whichever party finds itself in the majority.

Hastert didn't even dignify her request with a response.

So, it comes as some surprise that three House GOP'ers would co-author a letter requesting the same protections.

Republicans aren't yet an official minority in the House, but they're already beginning a campaign to portray themselves as victims of a heartless Democratic majority.

In a "Dear Colleague" letter circulated to fellow Republicans, three House GOPers are trying to push a "Minority Bill of Rights" -- based on a two-year-old proposal by then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). You can read the letter here.

House GOP: Don't Hurt Us -- Please

Republicans have to be, by far, the most hypocritical Americans in all the land! Some nerve!

I thought the Dems were the cry-babies and whiners. I guess the shoe is on the other foot now, huh?
