White broke his own Big East rushing record for quarterbacks with a staggering 247 yards on just 15 carries and the Mountaineers — with Slaton pitching in 163 yards — ran for 457 in WVU’s school-record-tying 13th straight victory.

The win improves West Virginia to 6-0 heading into a Friday night game at Connecticut, with the much-anticipated Big East showdown against Louisville on tap two weeks later.

For a team to be this well organized on both offense and defense is extrordinary. WVU is now leading the nation in wins, with six wins, and no losses. This is the second time in the past three seasons that WVU is leading the Big East. The only other time was last year when they went on to win the Sugar Bowl against Georgia.

West Virginia has always had a decent ground game over the years. This tandem has just made WVU even more of a threat to win every single week. Amos Zeroue is the most recent WVU tailback to have been drafted. Famous Amos was drafted by Pittsburgh some years back.

This current Mountaineers team does have a good chance to play for a National Title. I think that due to a somewhat weak schedule that they are being ridculed in the BCS rankings because of it. I believe that this team could very well contend for a National Title. It will just take time for this to come to fruition. With Slaton and White possibly returning next year, their time may be real soon.
