The quarter final of the FA Cup has thrown up the possibility of some intriguing ties, with Newcastle hosting either Spurs or Nottingham Forest, while Brentford could face Manchester United if they see off Southampton.

Holders Manchester United eased past Everton in round five and they will be on their travels again, with a trip to Southampton or Brentford lying in wait for Sir Alex Ferguson's men. Newcastle ended Chelsea's hopes of landing a quadruple and kept Alan Shearer's dream of ending his career on a high alive and they will entertain Spurs or Nottingham Forest in the last eight.
