Illinois a unanimous No. 1? Old news. But guess who finally cracked the top five?
Boston College, on the strength of its 18-0 record, moved up three slots to No. 5 in this week's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. The Eagles sit behind
still-perfect Illinois (21-0), which again garnered all 31 first-place votes, as well as new No. 2 North Carolina, Kansas (which vaulted four spots)
Former No. 2 Duke dropped to sixth following a home loss to Maryland. The Blue Devils are followed by Wake Forest (which lost at Georgia Tech),
Syracuse (which fell to Pittsburgh), Louisville and Michigan State, which rounds out the top 10.
Texas suffered the largest drop this week, falling five spots to No. 18. There are two newcomers to the poll -- No. 24 Maryland and poll debutante
Villanova, which checks in at No. 25. The Terps and Wildcats replace Mississippi State and Iowa.
