Big Chad is back in New York, and he did it in the fashion show of Football last week, in a routine victory over the Houston Texans. Chad showed us
all on that injury defying run for the first down, in the second half, that he has confidence to lead this team into this years playoffs, and to most
of New Yorkers a long waited SuperBowl.
Gang Green or the Jets are 9-3 behind the 11-1 Patriots, whom they are set to face next weekend, but first is the Steelers, who are hot as hot can be
behind the Rookie Big Ben. Whom are also 11-1, the Jets don’t necessarily have an easily schedule in the final games, and with two big names coming
up the Jets should be lucky to even win 1 game.
But from this writers point of view the Jets should take both games and surge into the division’s top spot. The Jets are winning these games on the
offense side, with Martin showing he’s a youngster again, and Chad sort of healthy. The jets are winning these games on the Defensive side of the
ball, allowing only 17 points in the past 3 games, a number that will have any oppentt thinking twice about their current game plan.
Last week we saw the Jets defense hold the Texans to only 200 off some TOTAL yards, a nice feature for a turned around Texans team. And holding the
ever powerful Davis to only 55 yards, while last season Davis torched the Jets for 190 yards. Even the Offensive coordinator for the Texans was
surprised as to how much the Jets have improved on defense, they have “team speed” their linebackers shoot into the gaps quickly. This is what
Gang Green fans want a team united defense, no fancy people on defense, just a team that will hold a team to under 15 points, while we cheer the
offense on scoring with Chad and Martin.
Sure, With Chad in the line-up we lose out on the deep threat, but who needs a deep threat when we have somebody that is one of the most accurate
passers in the game, and one of the best QB’s at the play action pass.
But this Special matchup against the Steelers, is going to be an ESPN instant Classic. This is going to show us New Yorkers just how much the Jets
have improved. The Jets lost in a close battles earlier in the Season to the Pats, we saw some improvement then, but we weren’t too impressed by the
improved. But now in the final weeks of the season, this could be a potential playoff battle. A win here will put the Jets in the boat of confidence,
and confidence is fragile in the playoffs, a single play can change your flow of confidence. Especially at 9-3 confidence is key.
We all are awaiting to see how good the Steelers turely are, but a lot of us are already set to believe that the Steelers are winners of the Superbowl
already, with a rookie QB that has won 8 or 9 straight games, how can anybody complain against that. And with the Bus on a tear, it’s hard to say
who is going to stop this offense, but this offense hasn’t been top notch. If you notice big Ben only does enough to win, something that Brady did
in his first campaign with the Pats. Big Ben has something that Brady didn’t have. Two stars at Rd, the Bus and Staley, who has been injured but
those names have enough star power to make a defense cringe at their names, Speed and power in two different backs. But as a New Yorker I have enough
confidence to say, the Jets will win this game, the jets are hot, and now Chad shoulder is about 95% healthy. Their defense has been the best in
years, Vilma is the next Ray Lewis, their d-line is on a tear, its going to be hard without Abraham at DE this weekend, but his backup, has shown big
improvement in recent games, enough to impress Herm Edwards, which is hard t do in itself. This line will get to big ben, will force him to make those
rookie mistakes and that is when the offense will come on the field behind Chad, and put a hurting on this defense, running the ball and throwing some
play action. This is going to be a close game, it’s going to finish within a touchdown or field goal, and both sides are going to play their hearts
out in this playoff crasher.
