Dinamo Zagreb fans, fuming over another disappointing league defeat, assaulted striker Dario Zahora when he stopped at traffic lights on his way home
on Saturday night, a Croatian newspaper reported.
The incident occurred after Dinamo lost 4-2 away to Rijeka, extending a streak of poor performances this season. Zahora stopped his car at a red light
in downtown Zagreb when a group of men ran up, opened his door and started beating him.
Dinamo, which has earned seven league titles since Croatia's independence in 1991, has won only six of 16 league matches this season and is fifth in
the table, six points behind leaders Inter Zapresic.
Dinamo fans, known as the Bad Blue Boys, interrupted a team training session last month and stripped the players of their shirts, saying they were not
worthy of wearing the team's colours.
