Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Frank Middleton is expected to miss the remainder of the season because of a torn left quadriceps muscle that will
require surgery.
Middleton was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's 31-26 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He had a player blocked into him and fell awkwardly with
most of his weight on the left leg.
Ironically, Middleton, an eight-year veteran, finished last season on the injured reserve with a torn right quad.
In addition, rookie wide receiver Carlos Francis will be sidelined the rest of the year with a torn ACL in his left knee and veteran cornerback
Charles Woodson will undergo an MRI on Monday to have a hip pointer examined further. Woodson's future status is uncertain.
Defensive tackle Ted Washington has bruised ribs, but he might be able to play Sunday at San Diego.
