Tragic news in NASCAR today. A plane carrying several members of Rick Hendrick's family, friends, and colleagues crashed in the Bull Mountain area
outside of Martinsville, VA, killing all aboard. Killed in the crash were son Ricky Hendrick, brother John Hendrick, twin daughters of John Hendrick
Kimberly and Jennifer Hendrick, Joe Jackson, Jeff Turner, the team's chief engine builder Randy Dorton, pilots Scott Latham, Dick Tracy and Liz
Morrison. Rick Hendrick owns the teams of Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Terry Labonte and Brian Vickers.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. - A plane owned by the Hendrick Motorsports organization crashed Sunday on its way to a NASCAR (news - web sites) race, killing
all 10 people aboard, including the son, brother and two nieces of the owner of one of auto racing's most successful teams.
The Beech 200 took off from Concord, N.C., and crashed in the Bull Mountain area about seven miles west of Martinsville's Blue Ridge Regional Airport
about 12:30 p.m., said Arlene Murray, spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration.

I can remember when Payne Stewart's airplane crashed. It was a sad day in the golf world. This will be a sad day in the racing world.
