Man City 0 Arsenal 1
Arsenal extended their unbeaten league run to 47 games with a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Barclays Premiership. Ashley Cole scored the winner
after 14 minutes following good initial work from Jose Reyes. Kevin Keegan's side did threaten to grab an equaliser with Jon Macken and Nicolas Anelka
going close, but Jens Lehmann was equal to their efforts.
Middlesbrough 0 Chelsea 1
Chelsea had leapt above the Gunners for just over two hours after their lunchtime win against Middlesbrough. Didier Drogba scored the only goal of the
game with nine minutes remaining at the Riverside. The Ivory Coast striker met Frank Lampard's low free-kick and steered his shot past Mark Schwarzer
to maintain Jose Mourinho's side's unbeaten record this season.
Liverpool 3 Norwich 0
Liverpool secured a comfortable victory against Norwich at Anfield. Milan Baros scored the opener after 23 minutes with a fine run and shot. Luis
Garcia doubled the lead three minutes later after a Djibril Cisse had set him up. Cisse then added the third after 64 minutes with a low drive and it
stayed 3-0.
Tottenham 0 Man Utd 1
Tottenham's unbeaten start to the season was brought to an end with 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at White Hart Lane. Pedro Mendes had a 30-yard
drive saved by Roy Carroll in the first half but chances were few and far between. Ruud van Nistelrooy scored the winner after 42 minutes, scoring
from the penalty spot after Erik Edman fouled John O'Shea.
Newcastle 3 West Brom 1
Newcastle dominated against West Brom but were made to wait before grabbing the points with a 3-1 win. Craig Bellamy had a good chance early on but
was brought down by Darren Purse - who was booked. Purse was later dismissed in the second half for his second offence. Patrick Kluivert finally
opened the scoring after 70 minutes when Russell Hoult spilled a Laurent Robert cross. James Milner came off the bench to score the second with a
tap-in shortly after and Alan Shearer wrapped up the points with a third. Geoff Horsfield grabbed a consolation for the Baggies with three minutes to
go.
Fulham 1 Southampton 0
Fulham piled the pressure on Southampton manager Steve Wigley with a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage. Tomasz Radzinski scored after 24 minutes when he met
Luis Boa Morte's dangerous cross in a powerful header. Southampton have still not won since previous boss Paul Sturrock left the club.
Aston Villa 1 Crystal Palace 1
Andy Johnson's early strike for Crystal Palace against Aston Villa gave the Eagles hope of a first league win this season - but Villa hit back and the
points were shared. Johnson scored after six minutes when he latched onto a Aki Riihilahti through-ball and finished emphatically. But Lee Hendrie hit
back nine minutes before the break with a 25-yard effort that found the top corner - and it stayed 1-1.
