Kilmarnock 0 Aberdeen 1
Aberdeen continued their impressive start the season with a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park. James Fowler was the unfortunate Killie player who sent the ball crashing into the back of his own net in the 54th minute. The win allowed the Dons to cement their second place in the SPL table.

Kilmarnock's woes were added to by a nasty-looking head injury sustained by Gary Locke. The former Hearts midfielder was stretchered off in the first half before being taken to hospital.

Motherwell 4 Dundee Utd 2
Battling Motherwell eventually emerged 4-2 victors over Dundee United after an amazing second half in their clash at Fir Park. The home side had fallen behind just before the interval to a James Grady goal but rallied after the break with goals by Scott McDonald and David Clarkson in a dramatic four-minute spell only to see Jim McIntyre level the scores in the 68th minute. But, 60 seconds later, McDonald raced through a gaping hole in the Tannadice defence to restore the Steelmen's lead. Then, in the final seconds, Well substitute Alex Burns sealed the points with a terrific header.

Dundee 0 Livingston 0
In the third and final game in the SPL, Dundee and Livingston were unable to break the deadlock in a poor goalless draw at Dens Park. John Sutton headed wide from only six yards at the end of the first half while Burton O'Brien hit the post with a trundler for Livi. Steve Lovell and David McNamee were both sent off in the dying seconds for an angry clash.
