Newz Forum: BOXING: Miguel Cotto KO's Kelson Pinto To Win his First World Title!

Sept. 12, 2004 (SPORTZNEWZ) - After a series of punches, Kelson Pinto was down on the canvas for the third and final time in the fight. Miguel Cotto had captured his first World Title. It was a great fight with good action, but in the end Pinto could not handle Cotto's power which sent him crashing to the canvas on 3 occasions. The fight was stopped by the referee in the beginning of the 6th round after Pinto's corner threw in the towel to keep their fighter from getting badly hurt. A new Boxing Star is born as Miguel Cotto is now the WBO Super Lightweight Champion of the World.

Awesomer round by Cotto. Pinto was hurt bad and almost went down by a powershot. Great action.

COTTO Hurt Pinto BADLY towards the end of this round. He was dazed but he managed to hold on to end the round. If pinto keeps getting get hit like that this fight will be over soon.

Good Round. Pinto was wobbled again by Cotto. Both men exchanging some good shots.

PINTO DOWN AGAIN!! Towards the end of the round he got caught with a combination and tried to hold on but went down. Tough break since he was winning the round up to that point.

HE started the round and just went after Pinto with everything he had knocking him down. Pinto's Corner came and the referee stopped the fight!

COTTO is the Winner and NEW WBO Light Welterweight Champion of the WORLD!!!!

Hey sounded a good fight and Cotto had him in trouble from the start.....Cotto will just keep getting better and better...:party-smiley-018:
