BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns running back Lee Suggs did not practice Friday, leaving him doubtful for Sunday's opener against the Baltimore
Suggs, bothered by a neck stinger for more than a week, didn't even bring a helmet with him onto the practice field for Friday's workout.
Coach Butch Davis said Suggs had improved and isn't ruling him out from the opener.
"We've still got 48 hours and I haven't spoken to the doctors yet," Davis said.
Davis' policy in the past has been not to play anyone who has not practiced Thursday and Friday leading up to a game.
If Suggs can't play, William Green will get the bulk of the carries for Cleveland.
Green, who missed the final eight games last season after being suspended for failing the league's substance-abuse policy, had 17 carries for 54 yards
in his one game against Baltimore a year ago.
