OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Golden State Warriors waived forward Christian Laettner on Thursday, less than one month after acquiring him in an eight-player
trade with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Warriors got Laettner, Eduardo Najera, two future first-round draft picks and the draft rights to guards Luis Flores and Mladen Sekularac from
the Mavericks on Aug. 24, for Erick Dampier, Dan Dickau, Evan Eschmeyer and the draft rights to Steve Logan.
Laettner was traded from Washington to Dallas earlier in the summer. He averaged 5.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 48 games for the Wizards
last season.
Laettner, a member of the original Olympic Dream Team in 1992, has averaged 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in his 12-year career with
Minnesota, Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas and Washington.
