Athens, Greece (Sports Network) - Defending Olympic champion Maurice Greene was among three United States sprinters to move into the semifinals of the
100 meters after second-round heats Saturday night.
Americans had three of the four fastest times in qualifying with Shawn Crawford leading the way, as he won his heat in 9.89 seconds. Greene won his
heat in 9.93 seconds.
Francis Obikewlu of Poland also won his heat in 9.93 seconds, while American Justin Gatlin captured his in 9.96 seconds for the fourth fastest time
overall. The semifinals and finals are Sunday night.
