Mississauga, ON (Sports Network) - Andre Rison, a former Pro Bowl receiver in the NFL, singed with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
Ironically, the signing comes less than two weeks after a U.S. judge ordered an arrest for the five-time Pro Bowler for failing to pay child support.
Rison, who spent 12 seasons in the NFL with seven different teams, last played in 2000 with the Oakland Raiders. In 2001, he was suspended for four
games for a repeat violation of the league's substance abuse policy and had been out of football since.
Just this month, a Georgia judge ordered Rison's arrest for not paying over $100,000 in child support. Rison, who has two children -- both over the
age of 15, has not paid his $3,500-a-month child support since August 2002, according to a court order.
The 37-year-old Rison won a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 1997 and has hauled in 743 balls with 84 career touchdowns during an NFL career that began
with Indianapolis in 1989.
