Andre Agassi cruised into the semi-finals of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Paul-Henri Mathieu of France.
The top seed, five-time champion here, has yet to drop a set this week and ran his winning streak to nine matches overall. Agassi, seeking his second
title in three weeks, now meets unseeded Gilles Muller of Luxembourg in the last four.
Muller clinched his place by outbattling Swiss qualifier Michel Kratochvil 7-5 6-7 (7/9) 6-2. Lleyton Hewitt joined Agassi in the semi-finals here
with a hard-fought 6-3 3-6 7-6 (7/5) victory over seventh seed Cyril Saulnier of France.
The Australian now faces fourth-seeded American Robby Ginepri, who posted a 6-3 7-6 (7/3) triumph over unseeded Raemon Sluiter of the Netherlands.
