Manfred KURZER (GER), broke the world record with 590/600. The previous record was 588/600, by Igor KOLESOV (RUS), back on 30/05/2002.

Nineteen competitors took part qualification round of the Men's 10m Running Target. The final is scheduled for 12:30.
This is the last opportunity for the six final participants in the Men's 10m Running Target to win an Olympic title, as the event is being removed from the Olympic programme after Athens 2004.

Dimitri LYKIN (RUS), world champion 2002 and sliver medallist at the Athens 2004 World Cup, follows with 584/600.

The competition will be very interesting for the bronze medal, with four shooters between 579 and 578: LI Jie (CHN), Emil ANDERSSON (SWE) gold medallist at Sydney 2004 World Cup, Alexander BLINOV (RUS) bronze medallist at the Athens 2004 World Cup and the 1992 Barcelona gold medallist Michael JAKOSITS (GER).
