Mavs near deal for center Dampier, sources say

Golden State's Erick Dampier, the last remaining marquee free agent on this summer's market, apparently has agreed to a sign-and-trade deal that would ship him to the Mavericks, along with Evan Eschmeyer and Dan Dickau, according to several league sources.

Kings won't deal Stojakovic

Although Peja Stojakovic has asked to be dealt, owner Joe Maloof told the Bee's Martin McNeal that the Kings "have no intentions of trading" him.
