Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ruslan Fedotenko was awarded a one-year contract worth $1.5 million by an arbitrator on
Fedotenko, who helped lead the Lightning to their first-ever Stanley Cup title this past June, was seeking $1.75 million. Tampa Bay, though, was
looking to pay him $1.15 million.
The 25-year-old Fedotenko, who has played four seasons in the NHL, scored 17 goals and had a total of 39 points last year. Fedotenko, who spent his
first two campaigns in Philadelphia before being traded to the Lightning in 2002, has 69 goals and 64 assists in 305 career games.
The native of Kiev, Russia had a great run during the 2004 playoffs as he tied for the team lead with 12 goals in 22 postseason games.
