Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Anaheim Angels Wednesday agreed to terms on a minor league contract with free agent first baseman Andres Galarraga.
The 43-year-old Galarraga is expected to report to Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday.
Galarraga played for the San Francisco Giants last season and batted .301 with 12 homers and 42 RBI in 110 games. The 18-year veteran has also enjoyed
stints with Montreal, St. Louis, Colorado, Atlanta and Texas.
Galarraga has batted .288 with 398 home runs and 1,423 runs batted in over 2,250 career major league contests.
In November of 2003, he was diagnosed with a recurrence of the non-Hodgkins lymphona which caused him to sit out the 1999 campaign. Galarraga
underwent surgery and later had a transplant in February to get rid of the disease.
