Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - The Montreal Expos acquired lefthander Jeriome Robertson from the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday in exchange for
left-handed pitcher Pierre-Luc Marceau.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Expos designated righthander Jeremy Fikac for assignment.
The 27-year-old Robertson went 1-1 with a 12.21 ERA over eight relief appearances for the Indians this season.
Last year for Houston, he posted a 15-9 record with a 5.10 ERA in 32 games, 31 of which were starts. After obtaining pitchers Roger Clemens and Andy
Pettitte in the offseason, the Astros dealt Robertson to Cleveland for outfielder Luke Scott and the rights to outfielder Willy Taveras.
Marceau was signed as a non-drafted free agent on August 31, 1999. He was 0-0 with a 4.61 ERA in 13 games out of the bullpen for Single-A Savannah of
the South Atlantic League after going 1-1 with a 4.28 ERA in 18 relief outings for Single-A Brevard County of the Florida State League earlier this
season.
