Arsenal have agreed to sell French international midfielder Patrick Vieira to Real Madrid for 35 million euro ($60.02m). Real president Florentino
Perez and David Dein, the Gunners vice-president, discussed the transfer on the telephone and agreed to the deal.
It is thought that Arsenal will use the money received to fund a deal to sign Portuguese midfielder Maniche from European champions Porto. Vieira, who
will reportedly sign a four-to-five year deal to join the legions of 'Galaticos' at El Santiago Bernabeu. He will receive around $7.72m a year and is
expected to sign tomorrow to enable him to play in the Champions League qualifier with either WIT of Georgia or Polish side Wisla Krakow.
Vieira lifted the Premiership trophy as skipper of an unbeaten Arsenal side last season, but it is thought to be his concerns of the club's UEFA
Champions League prospects that has led to his decision to leave.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had even stated that he is powerless to stop Vieira leaving if the former Milan man decides to swap North London for
