Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - The Calgary Flames Tuesday re-signed defenseman Denis Gauthier, thus avoiding salary arbitration. As per club policy,
terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Gauthier played in 80 regular season games last season for the Western Conference champion Flames, tallying one goal and 15 assists. The only two
contests he missed were due to a suspension.
"Denis wanted to remain a member of this team and we see him fitting into our program in Calgary," said head coach/GM Darryl Sutter. "I'm happy we
were able to reach an agreement that works for both Denis and the organization."
The 27-year-old Gauthier has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with Calgary and has totaled 13 goals and 45 assists in 384 games.
