EAST HARTFORD, CONN. (AP) - Mia Hamm had a goal and two assists to lead the U.S. women's soccer team to a 3-1 win over China on Sunday in the final
warm-up before the Athens Olympics.
Abby Wambach assisted on Hamm's goal and scored her own. Aly Wagner opened the scoring before a crowd of 15,093 at Rentschler Field.
The United States is 14-8-10 all-time against China, including the gold-medal match at the 1996 Olympics and 1999 World Cup final. The United States
and China teams leave for Greece on Monday.
The United States is 15-1-2 this year, including a 7-1-2 mark against teams in the 10-team Olympic field. The U.S. team begins Olympic group play on
Aug. 11 against Greece.
