Knicks still have sights set on Dampier
New York Daily News

The Knicks haven't given up their pursuit of Warriors center Erick Dampier. The Daily News' Frank Isola reports that the Knicks are now willing to include Kurt Thomas as part of a sign-and-trade deal for Dampier.

GM: Carter, Raptors 'on the same page'
Toronto Sun

It looks like Raptors GM Rob Babcock has smoothed things out with Vince Carter. Babcock told the Sun's Steve Buffery that he and Carter are "on the same page".

Bulls shoot down Knicks' latest offer for Crawford
New York Post

The Post's Marc Berman reports that the Bulls have balked at the Knicks' offer of Dikembe Mutombo, Shandon Anderson, Moochie Norris and $3 million for Jamal Crawford, Jerome Williams and Eddie Robinson.

Isiah Still Shooting For Crawford Deal
New York Post

The five-hour summit at Chicago's O'Hare Airport Tuesday between Knicks president Isiah Thomas and Bulls GM John Paxson did not achieve a sign-and-trade settlement for Jamal Crawford, but the sides seem so close it would seem only egos stand in the way now. Thomas' unwillingness to have Harrington and Mutombo both involved also stems from saving them for a possible deal for Antoine Walker or Erick Dampier. Only formalities remain in the re-signing of free agent Vin Baker, who could be the Knicks' starting power forward if Kurt Thomas is traded.

Nets may make bids for Williams, Vaughn
Bergen Record

The Nets, however, remain in contact with the Cavaliers about a sign-and-trade deal for free agent Eric Williams and Dajuan Wagner... Another free agent the Nets are close to signing, is journeyman point guard Jacque Vaughn to back-up Jason Kidd. That is, if Kidd is around. Rumors are Kidd, who is out of the country on vacation, is unhappy that the Nets allowed Kenyon Martin to go to Denver, and might request a trade.

Bucks shift focus to Pistons' James
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

After losing free-agent center Etan Thomas on Wednesday, Milwaukee Bucks general manager Larry Harris quickly shifted his focus to the team's needs at point guard. According to league sources, the player the Bucks have pinpointed is Detroit's Mike James, who could sign a multiyear contract with Milwaukee as early as Friday... The Bucks are still trying to retain the services of unrestricted free agent Toni Kukoc, who has stirred the interest of several teams.

Heat could sign Rogers or Williams
Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel

Mark Bartelstein, agent for veteran forward Eric Williams, has been in regular discussions with Heat General Manager Randy Pfund... If the Heat grows impatient in its pursuit of free-agent power forwards Robert Horry and Karl Malone, Rodney Rogers remains a viable solution to fill out its primary power rotation of O'Neal, Michael Doleac, Udonis Haslem and Malik Allen.

i would be unhappy to if one of the best stars on the team was traded and let go. I do wonder if Kidd would request a trade, if he does i would expect it.

I wouldn't blame Kidd for wanting out, the Nets are trying to establish a losing culture with the moves they've made this off-season.

Ah, trade Kidd to San Antonio, and Malone signs there?? That would be awesome!
