Newz Forum: HOCKEY: Bruins sign Fitzgerald to two-year deal

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins signed veteran forward Tom Fitzgerald to a two-year contract on Wednesday. Financial terms were not revealed.

The 35-year-old Fitzgerald spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He tallied seven goals and 10 assists in 69 games during the 2003-04 campaign.

Fitzgerald has also enjoyed stints with the New York Islanders, Florida, Colorado, Nashville and Chicago during his 16-year NHL career and has totaled 135 goals and 184 assists in 1,026 contests

Fitzgerald is a good player. He gives a little bit of everything. I think the Leafs will miss him, especially killing penalties.

The Bruins should be good this year, what with keeping all of their stars, and bolstering up the lineup with some new guys.
