Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers Monday purchased the contract of first baseman Russell Branyan from Cleveland's Triple-A
affiliate in Buffalo. In exchange Milwaukee sent the Indians future cash considerations.
The 28-year-old Branyan began the season with Triple-A Richmond before he was traded to the Cleveland Indians and assigned to Buffalo. In 93 games in
Triple-A this season, Branyan batted .279 with 26 homers and 79 RBI.
Branyan was first drafted by Cleveland in the seventh round of the 1994 June Free Agent Draft.
For his major league career, which has spanned 400 games, Branyan is a .227 hitter with 70 homers and 180 RBI. He has played with both Cleveland and
