Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring Malaga defender Josemi to Anfield, according to reports in Spain. Sports daily Diario AS and Malaga paper Diario Sur both state negotiations were concluded late on Friday night and that the player will soon be jetting out to the USA to join the Reds on their pre-season tour.

The deal is reportedly worth 4million euros and is now subject to Josemi agreeing personal terms with Liverpool. The 24-year-old, who would become new coach Rafael Benitez's first signing for the Merseysiders, is able to play at right-back and in the centre of the defence.

Everton boss David Moyes has admitted he wants to sign PSV Eindhoven's Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel. Moyes is desperate to strengthen his squad before the season starts and Van Bommel, 27, has revealed his interest in moving to England before.

England midfielder Frank Lampard has committed his future to Chelsea by signing a new five-year deal. The 26-year-old agreed terms in Seattle during the club's tour of the USA.

Fulham manager Chris Coleman has resigned himself to beginning the new season without Luis Boa Morte. The midfielder has been picked by Portugal for next month's Olympic Games and could miss the first four games in the Barclays Premiership.

The agent of Porto midfielder Maniche claims Arsenal have enquired about the 26-year-old. Maniche starred in Porto's Champions League victory and also impressed in Portgual's run to the Euro 2004 final.

Derby County have signed Spanish midfielder Inigo Idiakez from Rayo Vallecano on a two-year contract. Idiakez impressed Rams boss George Burley while training at Pride Park during pre-season. The 30-year-old has played over 300 games in Spanish football, mostly in the Primera Liga.

Wolves have claimed striker Henri Camara is to end his boycott and return to training on Monday. Camara has not turned up for pre-season preparations at Molineux as he tries to engineer a move away from the club.

Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has revealed he has not given up on signing a superstar striker to replace Henrik Larsson. The Hoops have today been linked with Alan Shearer following the arrival at Newcastle of Holland international Patrick Kluivert. The 33-year-old former England captain has indicated he does not want to scale down his career just yet and a switch to Parkhead would see him team up again with Chris Sutton to recreate the famed SAS partnership that fired Blackburn to the Premiership title in 1995.

Spurs are denying rumours skipper Jamie Redknapp has been struck down by a new injury crisis. Redknapp, 31, who had to have career-saving knee surgery in America during his time at Liverpool, has had further knee problems in each of the last two campaigns since joining Spurs on a free transfer. But assistant-coach Chris Hughton insists he will be fit for the start of the new campaign despite failing to appear in any of the three matches on tour in Sweden last week or a run-out at non-league Stevenage.

Everton are doing the right choice with Van Bommel. PSV are bloody rich from all these transfers.

Maniche would help Arsenal out a lot. He has proven himself as a good player at the Euro's recently and if all goes well he'll be able to click with the team.

There is a problem though..

Mark van Bommel is a very good player and Everton are a very crap side (if you take away Rooney). He might have stated he would like to play in England but i can't see him wanting to go to Everton.

That's what I got confused about TRD. He's a good player so why would he go to Everton? They're s@#t and he's good, see the problem here...?

I hear ya...

Anytime a player wants to come to England, all the teams who are in the market for that type of player are linked with them. If he does go to Everton he is making a mistake. They lost Radinski, have no money and look like they will lose Rooney eventually.
