Cairo, Egypt (Sports Network) - Ghana has beat out Libya in the race to host the 2008 African Nations Cup.
The Confederation of African Football's (CAF) 13- member committee voted on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt and award the African tournament to Ghana.
By a vote of 9-3 Ghana won the right to host the event and the countries bid committee chairman, Kofi Amoah said: "I feel excited, I feel we have
worked very hard to win this bid. The 2008 tournament will be for the whole of African continent."
The 2006 tournament will be held in Egypt.
