The continuing saga of Kobe and his trial. Over a year has passed and after many a
pretrial hearing, things look to be moving along. There are many questions still to answer, including the victim possibly having sex with another man
within hours of the alleged rape and possible text messages sent to a friend after the encounter with Bryant. Due to the public nature of the
defendant, the media will not be kept in the dark about details that are not meant to be shared. E-mails were mistakenly sent to members of the media,
but were told by the judge to destroy them or face contempt charges.

DENVER (Reuters) - Basketball star Kobe Bryant (news)'s rape trial will begin on Aug. 27, about 14 months after a 19-year-old Colorado woman
accused him of sexually assaulting her in his hotel room, a judge ordered on Friday.
At a pretrial hearing this week lawyers defending the Los Angeles Lakers (news) star and prosecutors both told the judge they would be ready to
present their case by August.
Bryant's accuser, who is now 20, had urged the judge to start the trial as soon as possible, saying she had grown weary from the strain of intense
media scrutiny.

Where is Judge Wapner when you need him? Half hour plus commercials, it would all be over.
