RENO, Nev. (AP) - Clifford Etienne unanimously outpointed Talmadge Griffis in a 10-round heavyweight fight Saturday night.
The 32-year-old Etienne, from Baton Rouge, La, improved to 28-2-2, while Griffis, of Colorado Springs, Colo., dropped to 25-5-3.
All three judges scored the bout 98-92.
On the undercard, heavyweight Rafael Butler of Rochester, Minn., made a successful pro debut, stopping Royphy Soileau of Lake Charles, La., in the
third round. Butler won the 2004 National Golden Gloves superheavyweight championship.
