NEW YORK -- Detroit's dominating win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals was the highest-rated show on network television Thursday night.

ABC's coverage of the Pistons' 88-68 win got a 10.5 rating with a 19 share, 50 percent higher than the 7.0 earned by last year's Game 3 between New Jersey and San Antonio.

It was 3 percent higher than Game 3 between the Nets and the Lakers in 2002.

The average for the three games this year is a 10.4 with an 18 share, 68 percent higher than last year and 4 percent higher than 2002.

The rating is the percentage of all homes with TVs, whether or not they are in use. Share is the percentage of homes with TVs in use. Each rating point represents about 1.08 million households.

I just said the Lakers because it was pretty high the last time they were in the finals as well. But it could just be that it is an awesome series and the true underdog is kicking some serious a$$
